1. Finger walk

What’s needed to do this activity

“Lots of Love from You”

How to do the activity

Take your fingers for a walk over your baby’s body. Start the walk from the baby’s feet and gradually move up to his/her head. Name the parts of the body as your fingers stroll. You could sing, “Two little fingers going for a walk. Wew walk, walk and walk over the foot..”. Each time you go over a bumpy area like the knees, tummy, bums etc. you could say, “and now we go bumpety bump”, or at places where you want to tickle the baby, “Now we are sliding/rolling..” etc.

2. Mommy Daddy Obstacle Course

What’s needed to do this activity

Some of Baby’s Favourite Toys

How to do the activity

Daddy and Mommy (or other caregiver) can lie side by side with enough space between the two for the baby to lie. Place the Baby’s favourite toy on the outer side of one adult and the baby on the outer side of the other. Now encourage the baby to crawl over the ‘obstacle path’ to retrieve the toy. See how the baby crawls over one of you, then over the other to get the toy. As the baby moves over you, wiggle a bit and tickle the baby. When the baby comes between you two, shower the baby with hugs and kisses. Try to create affectionate obstacles in the path.

“Lots of Love”

How to do the activity

Play Peek-a-Boo with your baby. Sit facing your baby. Cover your face with your hands and remove it after a short while saying “Peek-a-Boo”. Babies love this and will show the excitement seeing your face. You can repeat this multiple times, each time bringing more giggles from your baby.
